PERIYAR vs GOD

Actually everybody busy now discussing, is it really happened that PERIYAR  slapped GOD statue with chappals and paraded the statue naked...

For me it's not invoking any sort of reaction and just thinking if it really happened, can it be justified on any grounds...

For centuries, women were oppressed by various ways like Child Marriage, Sati, Mensuration Taboo, Male Patriarchy,  deprived of  Education, Religion, Bhakti, Culture, Family binding, Family tradition values etc etc etc Actually GOD should have acted and save women community from these sufferings and discrimination long back but it never happened... it's only PERIYAR and AMBEDKAR who voiced the concern for the women community and fight for equal rights for women...

For centuries, the Shudras were deprived of education and were kept backward though they were praying to GOD all their life... God never turned up to solve their miseries ....it's only PERIYAR who fight for their rights...

For Centuries, the Outcastes ( SC /ST) were treated less than Animals and  so shamelessly discriminated  in the society, even not allowed to enter Temple and worship GOD , but GOD was busy hearing the Sanskrit slogans enjoying life in the Heaven and never saw them as humans and  never showed any sort concern to end the caste-based discrimination for the Outcastes ....it's only PERIYAR and AMBEDKAR who fought for their human rights

So PERIYAR might be having some grudge for GOD as he was forced to work for the social and economic welfare of the Backward and Discriminated sections as GOD was not doing anything to uplift the socio-economic status of them and just presenting itself as a Brick or Bronze statue expecting a Milk / Ghee Abhishegam...

Again back to first para, irrespective of whether  PERIYAR  slapped  GOD statue or not, whether  PERIYAR paraded the GOD statue naked or not, it's never really a concern for me...

My only concern is HUMAN BEINGS irrespective of their Gender, Religion, Caste, Race, Colour, Region, Language should be treated EQUAL

I will express my concern and show my  anger when a HUMAN BEING paraded naked and not GOD

மேல் சட்டை  இல்லாமல்  ஒரு மேல்தட்டு சாரார்  வாழ்வதை  ஆனந்த  ஆன்மிக காட்சியாகவும் அதே மேல் சட்டை இல்லாமல் ஒரு ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட பின்தங்கிய  சமூகம் வாழ்வதை  அன்றாட  காட்சியாகவும் பார்க்கிறது  இந்த புத்திஸ்வாதீனமில்லாத  சமூகம் ....இந்த தீ வெப்ப  ஆராதனை  வழிபாடுகள் மற்றும் மஞ்சள்  குங்குமம் பால் நெய்  உபயோகங்கள்   கோவில்களில்  இருப்பதால்  அந்த வழிபாடு    வேலைகளில் ஈடுபடுவோர்  மேல் சட்டை அணியாமல்  வேலை செய்வது  இன்றியமையாத  ஒன்றாக  அமைந்து  விடுகிறது  ... சவுகரியங்களுக்காக துறந்த  மேல் ஆடையை சாஸ்திரத்தோடு  நூல்  கொண்டு  கோர்த்து கடவுள் நம்பிக்கை , இந்து  சமய  நம்பிக்கையை  மக்களிடையே  தந்திரமாக  பரப்பி   தன் சமூக அந்தஸ்தை உயர்த்தி சாமர்த்தியமாக  இந்த சமூகத்தில் ஒரு ஏற்ற தாழ்வை  ஒளிரவைத்து  குளிர்  காய்ந்து கொண்டு இருக்கிறது ஒரு சமூகம் .... இந்த புரிதல்  கூட இல்லாமல் ஆட்டு  மந்தை  போல சமூக ஏற்ற தாழ்வை கடவுள் அமைத்து குடுத்த மேடை  போல அலங்கரித்து கொண்டாடுறார்கள்  தன்நிலை மறந்த  என்  மேலான மக்கள் ....

Women are not a property!

Again the men structured society starts a discussion on the recent judgement which strikes down the section 497 which book the man under criminal case for extramarital relations.

On the offset, it seems like a hasty judgement which may put the marital chastity in jeopardy and the custodians of ideal society sheds crocodile tears that the judgement may lead to increase in the extramarital affairs because of the very reason that the man indulges in such acts can't be punished under the law.

But if we see what section 497 deals with it punishes a man having an extramarital affair with a married woman but the same section can't apply to a man having extramarital affair with an unmarried woman.

The Ram avatars of this society may tell what is the big fuss. A relation with married women destroys that family whereas it's not the case in an unmarried woman.

But if we just rewind back and see how women get treated in the society, we can see the patriarchal notion behind that concern. Here the women once get married she becomes a property of her husband and a relationship with her becomes an offence as you are mingling with somebody property. What a regressive thought being in practice under the cover of a marriage.

The Supreme Court very rightly points out this inequality and passed a historic judgement which is one step forward towards gender equality.

But in the pretext of respect to women, an even more regressive cultural identity in the name of chastity has been forcefully pierced in the minds of women as if chastity is a God-given gift for them. she only responsible for keeping the pride of her parents, husband, society and even nation. Any deviation by her in that so-called chastity puts all the above to shame. Whereas no such chastity being imposed on a man.

So when talking about chastity, the quotes of the godfather of women liberation PERIYAR views come to the mind. " If a woman really wants freedom, the concept of chastity that deals a different justice to each sex must be destroyed and an equal, self-governing concept of chastity for both sexes must come into place.

Let's hope that the recent judgements which appropriate women dignity and freedom bring in a constructive change in the society which moves towards a more inclusive and an equal society.

ஜாதிகள் இல்லையடி பாப்பா !

Dont want to start a discussion ....just want to share how people still carries caste with them ....Today i was talking to a person who started telling how he strike down a noting of a Ch.OS and drafted  his own noting to get a approval for a particular issue ....Normal talks only , was priding himself how he disagrees with Ch.OS and  through his  noting  how he got the things approved by PHOD , thereby telling that he is more intelligent than the Ch.OS....Now you may be wondering where is the caste involved here ....Ya .....I have not told the exact line he has used to show his intelligence ....here comes what exactly he has told ! அவரு இயங்கார இருக்கலாம் ஆனா நான் ஐயர் ...means if the Ch.OS thinks that he is an Iyengar I am an Iyer ....and after seeing the wry smile on my face he changed the topic ....In my mind i was thinking what would have been his thought and dialogue if the Ch.OS is a Dalit or Backward Class people ....The point i want to convey is that even a intelligent talented person thinks that he got the knowledge , intelligence talent etc only because he has born in a particular caste rather than he accquired that knowledge through his hard work and studies thereby he also just becomes a Caste Identity like a Dalit but a priveleged one ....When he have a thinking that an equally priveleged upper caste Iyengar is not equal to him how he sees other caste persons ...ஜாதிகள் இல்லையடி பாப்பா குலம் தாழ்த்தி உயர்த்தி சொல்வது பாவம்  !  Its not only that telling low or high about a caste is a Sin even if you think like that also is a Sin ! 

Practice Equality

I was just wondering how our  progressive thoughts makes you a better person ....On wednesday night 19.09.18,  Ganesha immersion procession was there in the night and after four days of continuous late night sleep due to our children participation in the dance, singing & fashion dress activities i was not in a mood to participate, but my wife was eager to be there in the procession at least inside the quarters campus ....So half  heartedly i went and participate ....after going there you have to dance ....How a half hearted person dance , then i changed to a full hearted person by coming back to house ....had a few drink of Black Dog .....then the procession was possessed by romantic dancing of me with my wife ....The procession was inside the quarters till 01.30 AM ....Except my wife and three of her friends ...no women were  there till that period ....and moreover no women were dancing even  from the start of procession ....It would not have been possible for my wife to dance though she wanted to dance had i remain the regressive person as i was before ....Constant thinking about women freedom , their fantasies , priorities  and most  importantly the strong belief in the gender equality makes me a better person in understanding that women also have individual desires and fantasies as man and its just she REPEAT just she as a individual person has to decide how she wants to live her life....

என் சமூகம் !

மக்கள் தொகையில்  சிறிய  அளவிலான  ஒரு மக்கள் காலம் காலமாக  வர்கள்  ....அரசு வேலையில் அவர்களே இருக்கிறார்கள்  எல்லா  நிலையிலும்  ....70 ஆண்டுகள்  முன்னே  இருந்த நிலை  ....இதை எப்படி போக்குவது  ....பெருவாரியான சமூகம்  படிப்பறிவில்லாமல் இருந்த நிலையில்  அந்த மக்களின்  முன்னேற்றம்  என்ன ! நன்றாக யோசித்தால்  அந்த நன்றாக படித்த  சமூகம் தான் மற்றவர்களை  படிக்க  தூண்டி  இருக்க  வேண்டும் ........ஆனால் அவர்களோ  தான் நன்றாக இருந்தால்  போதும் மற்ற சமூகம்  எப்படி போனால்  என்ன என்று இப்போது  இருக்கும் அவர்களின் மனநிலையில்  தான் அப்போதும்  இருந்தார்கள்  ....அவர்களுடைய ஒற்றை  இலக்கு  தன்னை  சமூக அந்தஸ்து  பெற வைத்த மனு  தர்மத்துக்கு  எந்த வித  சேதாரமமும்  வராமல்  பார்த்துக்கொள்வது  ........அதற்கு அந்த மனு தர்மத்தை  வகுத்து  கொடுத்த  மதத்தை  காப்பது ....மதம் காக்க  வேண்டும் என்றால்  அதற்கு  அடித்தளமான  கடவுளை  பிற  சமூகத்தினர்  அண்ட விடாமல்  பார்ப்பது  ....இவ்வளவு முக்கிய  வேலை  அவர்களுக்கு இருக்கும் போது அவர்களுக்கு  மற்ற சமூகத்தின் மேம்பாட்டுக்கு  யோசிக்க அவர்களுக்கு எப்படி மனம் வரும் ....இந்த அவர்களின் சமூக அந்தஸ்தை  காப்பாற்றிக்கொள்ளவே  அவர்கள்   மேலெடுத்த குலக்கல்வி   ....இப்படி ஒரு நிலையில் தான் அவதரித்தார்  Periyaar ....இவர்களின் சுயரூபத்தை  தெரு  தெருவாக  சென்று  தோலுரித்தார்  ...அவர் திராவிட சிந்தனைகள் சுயமரியாதை  விஷயங்கள்  பெருவாரியான  மக்களின் சிந்தனையை  தட்டி  எழுப்பியது  ....அவன் தன்னுடைய நாளைய  சமூகம் பயன்பெற  மக்களை படிக்க பள்ளிக்கு  அனுப்பினான்  ........ஆனால் வேலை ....காலம் காலமாக படித்த ஒரு சிறிய சமூகம் இப்போது படிக்க ஆரம்பித்திருக்கும்  பெரு  வாரியான  சமூகம் ....இங்கே merit தராசு வைத்தால் அங்கு  ஜெயிக்க  போவது அந்த படித்த மேதாவி  சமூகம் ....அங்கே தான் இட ஒதிக்கீடு  என்ற  சமூக அக்கறை  கொண்ட அஸ்திரத்தை  கையில்  எடுத்தார்  பெரியார்  அவர் சார்ந்த திராவிட இயக்கம்  ....ஒரு லட்சம்  வேலைவாய்ப்புகளில் வெறும்  மூன்று லட்சம் சிறிய சமூகம் பெருவாரியாக  பயன்  அடைவது  சமூக நீதியா  ? இல்லை தொண்ணுற்று  ஏழு  லட்சம் கொண்ட சமூகம் பெருவாரியாக பயன் படுவது  சமூக  நீதியா ? அந்த மூணு லட்சம் சமூகம் பயன் பெற்றால்  அது மனுநீதி  !  அந்த மனுநீதியை  மண்ணுள்  புதைத்து  அதன்  மேல்  சமூக நீதி கோடியை  நாட்டியவர்கள் பெரியார் , அண்ணா, கலைஞர் மற்றும் அவர்கள் கடைபிடித்த  திராவிட கொள்கையும்  தான் ....
